Asian Businessmen Receive Hate Mail

Anyone who thinks racism does not affect Asians-or is somehow imagined by Asian-Americans, should think again after they read this article.

In a disgusting display of racism, Asian business owners in the Philadelphia area received mail threatening to rape the women and kill the children in their communities.

Can you imagine that happening to caucasian or black business owners? The national media would be all over that one! But how many of you heard about these horrendous acts? Probably not too many.

But now that you have heard about it. What is your reaction? Is this an isolated incident perpetrated by some fringe group? Or does it say something different about our culture and our people and how we as a culture feel about racism generally and Asians specifically?

Let us know whatever you think and then let's see if we can help change things. It's 2005 already and no one, especially in the U.S., should be subject to that kind of hate or discrimination.
